Itâ€™s difficult not to ever approach a Brian Wilson concert with a few trepidation.
The 77-year-old Beach Boys auteur had been likely to have fun with the Lynn Auditorium back June, but after straight back surgery reignited their notorious psychological wellness battles, the show had been rescheduled for Friday evening (January 24). Also now that heâ€™s feeling better, the known reality stays that Wilson attained their legend within the studio, perhaps not on the stage. But I would personally reckon that none of my fellow concertgoers came expecting a Springsteen-tier, age-defying performance; they most likely just wished to hear a few of the best pop tracks of them all, sung because of the truly amazing musician who aided produce them. And, by having a complete large amount of assistance from their buddies, Wilson provided them exactly that.
But first, a shock opener! Andrea Magee, a Belfast native currently based away from Austin, led her adroit musical organization in a brooding yet energetic set. Her noise is rooted in US folk-rock but includes a distinctly Celtic atmosphere, as she pounded out roiling rhythms regarding the bodhrÃ¡n (an Irish hand drum) and also played some keening tin whistle.
